Bretagne classic ouest-france

A well structured team

While at Movistar, priority is given to the Vuelta, the spanishteam mobilized Plouay a rather heterogeneous team but finally giving a coherent collective. The basic man on Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France will be Belgium's Jürgen Roelandts who will have a team that can take him far.

The success of Oliver Naesen in two editions of the Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France should inspire his compatriot Jürgen Roelandts who will be at the head of an outsider team Movistar. In the collective led by José Vincente Garcia Acosta, four riders arrive for the first time in Plouay, three of them yet have a good career behind them.

Since 2005, when the WorldTour was created, the spanishteam had two podiums at Plouay : 3rd in 2008 with David Lopez Garcia and 2nd in 2012 with Rui Costa. It is noted that this mythical team – who had several different names before - was already in Plouay the year of its creation in 1980 !

To support its riders, Movistar appealed to José Vincente Garcia Acosta, a man who only once went to Plouay during his career, on the stage Saint-Martin-de-Landelles- Plouay of the Tour de France 2002.

Around Jürgen Roelandts

Movistar Team presented its first riders list scheduled in Plouay under the direction of the sporting director Jose Vicente Garcia Acosta.
101. Carlos Barbero (Esp, 28). 16th of the Bretagne Classic in 2017, he has the best reference of his team on this race. With a good start to the season with a 12th place finish on Gent-Wevelgem, he can achieve a good performance.

102. Carlos Betancur (Col, 29). The compact Colombian will discover Plouay. Strong rider in difficult conditions, he should enjoy a race difficult to win.
103. Hector Carretero (Esp, 24). After having lived the first two editions of Bretagne Classic, he knows where he is coming.
104. Jaime Castrillo (Esp, 23). Still learning on the highest level in the world, the young spanish will be there to gain experience and support his elders.
105. Luis Mas Bonet (Esp, 29). He will discover the Bretagne Classic and Plouay and will be there as a teammate or to animate the beginning of the race.

106. Eduard Prades Reverter (Esp, 32). The winner of the Tour of Aragon will discover Plouay. In form after a good Tour of Poland, he can try to take part in the breakaway.
107. Jürgen Roelandts (Bel, 34). The Belgian was one of the great experts of Plouay when the race was disputed on the circuit. 4th in 2013, 5th in 2012 and 2015, he then played only the first edition of Bretagne Classic. Great specialist in extreme classics - we did not forget his ride on Gent-Wevelgem 2015 - he must come to win.
