Bretagne classic ouest-france

An experienced team

EF Education First seems to have well prepared the sporting goal of Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France. The americanteam will be one of the only ones to present a squad with six riders who have already run at least once the bretonclassic. Sep Vanmarcke and his teammates know where they are going.

If, in 2016, all teams of the WorldTour went into the unknown by racing the first edition of Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France, three years later, at the time of approaching the fourth edition, the international squad knows that it goes to Brittany for a race with characteristics close to the Amstel Gold Race, a good intermediary between traditional Flanders and Ardennes classics. Thus, the ambitious teams send to Plouay their spring champions like EF Education First do.

To support Sep Vanmarcke, 4th in 2017, the US team presents an experienced squad that has already accumulated ten entries on the new bretonclassic. Among them, only one beginner, but not least : Simon Clarke, 2nd of the Amstel Gold race this year. It is surely by ambition that he comes to Brittany ...

We note that all the young riders of this team shone in Brittany during their seasons spent in the U23 category.

With Sep Vanmarcke and Simon Clarke

EF Education First presented its first list of riders scheduled to Plouay under the direction of the sports director Charles Wegelius.

31. Matti Breschel (Den, 35). In return, the Dane, medalist twice at the world championships (3rd in 2008 and 2nd in 2010), will take advantage of Bretagne Classic to find the condition by helping its leaders.

32. Simon Clarke (Aus, 33). 2nd of the Amstel Gold Race behind Mathieu Van der Poel. By observing the profile of this race and that of the Bretagne Classic, the Australian had to note that the two courses were like twins. 8th of Strade Bianche and 9th of Milan-San Remo, he will be one of the big favorites of the day.

33. Moreno Hofland (Ned, 28). Triple stage winner on the Kreiz Breizh Elites, he knows the center of Brittany very well. The Dutch sprinter, recently 11th in London, will be there as a teammate to support his two leaders.

34. Logan Owen (Usa, 24). Former cyclo-crossman, the young American continues his apprenticeship on the road. He will appreciate the gravel roads of Roudouallec where he will be able to help his two leaders. In addition, he knows Brittany since he completed the Tour twice in 2014 and 2017.

35. Sacha Modolo (Ita, 33). The experienced Italian sprinter returns for the second time to Plouay with the role of helping its leaders.

36. Julius Van den Berg (Ned, 22). Still in apprenticeship, the young Dutchman returns for the second time to Plouay. Winner at Dol-de-Bretagne during the Tour de Bretagne 2018, he knows the characteristics of the roads in the region.

37. Sep Vanmarcke (Bel, 31). 4th in Paris-Roubaix, Sep Vanmarcke knows he can succeed where his compatriot Oliver Naesen has triumphed twice. 4th in Plouay in 2017, this rider used to places of honor can finally win a beautiful in Britanny.
