Groupama - FDJ like a Breton team


Engaged with four riders and a sports director bretons, Groupama - FDJ will be one of the most local teams of this 4th edition of Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France. The Bretons will not be there to make the figuration but to win. The new generation is quite capable of it.

In 2018, the Groupama - FDJ team had thrilled the public of Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France seeing Olivier Le Gac take part in the good escape before being ranked 7th while his young fellow and teammate ValentinMadouas took the 8th place. These two boys know their Brittany and are now to be considered as pure specialists of the bretonclassic. They embody the succession. In Plouay, we are waiting for a bretonwinner since 1992, the year of Ronan Pensec's victory.

In this team led by FrédéricGuesdon, the bretonwinner of Paris-Roubaix and Paris-Tours, we will find another breton talent, David Gaudu, one of the most promising young rider of the WorldTour.

To support these three young bretons, Groupama - FDJ appealed to experienced team members. Waiting for a victory at Plouay since 1999 and the success of Christophe Mengin, Marc Madiot's team has reason to believe.

Groupama – FDJ presented its first list of riders scheduled to Plouay under the direction of the sports director Frédéric Guesdon.

171. David Gaudu (Fra, 22). 13th of the Tour de France being the lieutenant number 1 of Thibaut Pinot, winner on the Tour de Romandie, the young Breton is part of the rising generation. Capable of everything, he will be one of the most watched riders.

172. Olivier Le Gac (Fra, 26). 7th in 2018 for his third participation in Bretagne Classic, the Finisterienwill evolve on his lands. He will be able to compete again the world's best riders on a course he knows every corners.

173. Valentin Madouas (Fra, 23 ans). Laurent's son, 2nd at Plouay in 1995, can win a race made for him. In full progression, now at ease on the biggest races of the world, he will be one of the big favorites of the day. In Brittany, nobody doubts that he can win the Bretagne Classic. This would be seen as a logical step in the evolution of his career. Everyone believe it !

174. Rudy Molard (Fra, 29). At ease on all terrains, he will be a perfect teammate to lead his young bretons leaders to victory.

175. Anthony Roux (Fra, 32). The 2018 French Champion will also be there in super teammate and a master card in the game of young favorites of Groupama - FDJ.

176. Benoît Vaugrenard (Fra, 37). Tenth and last participation in Plouay for the Morbihannais who will also be a luxury teammate for his young compatriots. He is probably the greatest expert of Plouay in activity, he was also on the junior world championship in 2000. With great emotion, the local rider will live his last race in Brittany.

177. Mathieu Ladagnous (Fra, 34 ans). A very experienced teammate, he will be like Guesdon, Roux and Vaugrenard a key member of the team to lead Madouas, Le Gac or Gaudu to victory.

The announced substitutes are Antoine Duchesne (Can), Steve Morabito (Sui), Miles Scotson (Aus) and Ignatas Konovalovas (Ltu).
